Qld: Post mortem results might take weeks: Police

TOWNSVILLE, Dec 4 AAP - The results of a post-mortem examination of two bodies found
after a fire in Townsville could take two weeks, police said today.

The bodies, understood to be those of a Townsville mother and her one-year-old daughter,
were found in the charred ruins of their bedroom at the weekend.

A police spokesman said it could be two weeks or more before the results of the post-mortem
and DNA identification were available.

"Approximately two weeks is the indication that's been given to the officer in charge
of the CIB," he said.

The deaths are being treated as suspicious.
