WEST DES MOINES, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 9, 2000
The FREEDOM Group, a unit of Fiserv, Inc. (Nasdaq: FISV), today announced that Solience Systems of Plantation, Florida, has licensed the FREEDOM(R) Claims Workstation.
Solience Systems is an information technology solutions provider. Formerly known as Business Risk Technology, Inc., Solience Systems has specialized since 1995 in applying the latest technology to meet the processing and data management needs of the property and casualty industry.
"The decision to go with Claims Workstation was based partially on The FREEDOM Group's reputation in the industry," said James Allen, Supervisor of Application Software at Solience Systems. "We were also pleased with how useful Claims Workstation is right out of the box and with its short implementation schedule, in relation to other systems. We found the system to be practical because core functionality is immediately available, and we can tailor the system to meet the unique needs of our clients through configurable settings."
Claims Workstation is an enterprise-caliber claims management system that facilitates claims adjusting and communications. The system supports a variety of relational databases and is based on an n-tier architectural design. Claims Workstation's electronic claim files can contain non-structured information, such as scanned mail, faxes, correspondence, spreadsheets, photos and more. Required letters and forms can be automatically merged with data in the database and filed within the electronic claim file. Business rules are customer-defined, allowing the system to be tailored to fit unique requirements.
"We are extremely pleased to be able to offer Solience Systems the functionality and flexibility they want in a claims management system," said Jeff West, Senior Vice President of the Insurance Division of the FREEDOM Group. "Claims are significant contact points between insurer and claimant. Handling claims well is important in this era of competition for customers."
The FREEDOM Group is a leading provider of software and services to the property-casualty industry. Founded in 1986, the company offers systems handling personal and commercial lines, billing, claims, and premium accounting and reporting. Outsourcing and consulting services are also available. FREEDOM is also the largest provider of financial products to both property-casualty and life companies, with a client base in excess of 2,000 insurance companies.
